V. Eppelbaum received an M.Sc in Geophysics (1982) at the Oil Academy in Baku
and Ph.D. (1989) at the Inst. of Geophysics in Baku, Georgian Acad. Sci. and
Moscow Mining Academy. From 1982 to 1990, he worked as a Researcher and Senior Researcher
at the Southern Branch of the All-Union Geophysical Prospecting Inst. in Baku.
During 1991-1992, he had Postdoctoral Studies at the Dept. of Geophysics, Tel
Aviv University (TAU). From 1993 to 2005, he occupied positions of Researcher,
Senior Researcher, and Senior Lecturer; in February 2005, he received at this
Dept. a position of Research Professor. Lev Eppelbaum received several awards,
including the Christian Huygens Medal of the European Geosciences Union (2019).
In 2020, he was awarded Honorary Professor of the Azerbaijan State Oil and
Industry Univ.; in 2023, he was elected as a Foreign Member of the Georgian
Academy of Sciences. More than twenty-five times, he was elected as Chairperson
of sessions at International scientific conferences. Prof. Lev Eppelbaum is a
member of nine International professional associations.
